Bees play a vital role in our ecosystems, but populations are in grave danger. In the UK, 35 species of bee are at risk of extinction and all are threatened. Habitat loss, intensive farming methods, pesticides and climate change all contribute to the problem.
The UK government is proposing to abandon regulations that protect our wildlife at a time when one million species face extinction globally.
